Z Scale Z Gauge Noch "Sonnenalpe" Layout in a Custom Fitted Mahogany/Oak Wood Case

The Sonnenalpe layout is a rare find finished for Z scale operations. Noch discourages putting a Z locomotive through the grade changes this layout demands. Layout in the solid wood case measures appx. 32 inches x 23 inches by 6 1/4 inches. The Sonnenalpe layout is wired for operation with one battery operated controller controlling two loops of track. But simply remove the jumper wires pictured and plug in a second transformer controller to run two trains independently on each loop of track. Second transformer/controller available separately, not included. Layout is in Like New condition.
The solid wood Mahoghany/Oak case was manufactured by an American Z scale train manufacturer and sold as a complete ready to run Z layout with the Sonnenalpe board installed. The case features all wood construction, solid brass hardware and includes two rows of Z train car holders in burgundy velvet in front of the layout board. It has a furniture-quality fit and finish on all displayed sides. The case is secured when closed by two brass pins which fit on each side of the case. The heavy wood case weighs 23 lbs unboxed. It rates the highest WAF (Wife Approval Factor) for display in the public areas of "her" home.
Overall I have rated the layout as Like New condition. Please review the pictures as they are part of the description.

No locomotives or train cars are included with the layout.
Noch thoughts:
Noch recommends using train cars and locomotives less than 8.5 cm in length, because of the tight radius curves used on the layout.
In addition, the locomotive should be a 4-axle or 2 truck (Bo Bo) version.
Large American-style
locomotives may require layout and/or coupler modification to operate
on this layout. I do not accept returns if your locomotive/train cars
will not run on this layout, so ask before you purchase.
