DESCRIPTION:

This listing is for a "lovely" antique German "Queen Louise" doll. Incised at the back of her bisque head is "28 Queen Louise, Germany, 7".  Reference attributes to 1890+ Germany, by Armand Marseille doll maker.  This doll measures 23" tall being a bisque socket head on wooden composition jointed body. Body shows re-paint, scuffs, overall wear, for being 100 or so years old, she has all her fingers, however the right hand fingers show past restoration. I do not know her past history. Doll is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, legs and knees. I had her "re-strung" and she displays great. She has a "sweet"  face with open and close blue sleepy eyes that work fine, painted black lashes around her eyes, upper eye lashes are gone, she has  brush stroked dark brown brows, open mouth with upper teeth, there is a faint dimple in her chin. High color blush on her lovely face. I flashed inside her head and do not see any cracks or hairlines, there is plaster cement inside that was used to secure the sleepy eyes on rocker as most doll people do.  Her replacement dark blonde wig with bangs is long and lovely, it slips over a pate on her head.  "Louise" wears dress with ruffles, pantaloons, stockings and red shoes. Her dress and pantaloons could use a cleaning, I notice light stains throughout the dress and pantaloons, or you may wish to replace her clothing. I have taken plenty of photos, please look at my photos they will serve as part of this description. Doll stand is not included in this listing. If you would like further photos or have questions please email me. "Queen Louise" is not perfect, but overall a "beauty" and would be a "Treasure" for your collection or display!  Offering to you AS IS condition shown with Buy It now listing. We do combine shipping so please view our Ebay Store. Thank you!
