1996 VW GOLF GTI 16V MK3 ANNIVERSARY MODEL.  3DR IN FLASH RED.  Non-Sunroof. photo SDC11305_zpsgyqtxfmw.jpg

Very rare car as only 150 were made to celebrate 20 years of the Golf GTI.  I'm advised only 30 or so are still registered on the road.  This is also the more desirable 150bhp 2 litre 16v model.  An 8v version was advertised on here recently for £6995!

The car comes with a full MOT and a fully stamped service history upto 121k.  Current mileage is low for year at 141000.  MOT history from 2006 to date.  It even comes with the original owners wallet with all the paperwork it had from new.  I also have a report to show the car is clear from any stolen/accident history.  The factory fitted build stickers are reassuringly still in place as well. photo SDC11301_zpszgnnkza7.jpg

Being a limited edition model it benefits from the unique anniversary spec interior.  This means different seats to standard GTI models, red seat belts and a better spec gearknob, steering wheel and handbrake assembly (leather with red stitching).  It also features a passenger side airbag along with silver faced dials.  All these features were unique to the anniversary model and offer a vast improvement over the usual gloomy MK3 GTI interior.  You can see by the pictures the interior is superb and shows very little sign of wear at all.  No worn seat bolster or holed carpets here.  Everything looks to be working fine as well including the electric windows and dashboard computer display.

The car is still equipped with the  Anniversary spec 16" BBS alloys as well.  These were recently professionally refurbished so look great.

The exterior is very good for year.  The paintwork looks to be largely original and still gleams.  The black plastics are still nice and dark as well.  Not faded or scuffed like many.  There are a few imperfections as you would expect from any 21 year old car but nothing I would consider significant.  I've included lots of pictures so please study them carefully and judge for yourselves.  I'm not selling a museum car either so please be realistic.  It looks great in my opinion and will be better than most for sale but I want to make that clear.  Its the full Anniversary specification outside so has the smoked lights, unique badges, red brake calipers and red striping that the normal GTI models don't have.

Engine and gearbox again are great.  The car starts first time with no smoke or any other issues.  These 2 litre 16v ABF engines are one of the best VAG ever made and can exceed 200000 miles easily without requiring any work.

It's part of my collection of 80/90's 'investment' cars.  Only selling as I've lost my storage so am having to downside. Make no mistake this car is a great investment due to its rarity.  The logbook is in my name and I wouldn't be selling if I had indoor storage still.   For the new MOT all the brakes were discs/pads were renewed along with all the rear hoses.  A complete new standard exhaust was also fitted.  A new passenger outer CV boot was also fitted as one was starting to crack and was an advisory on the MOT.

Pretty much unused for the last 3 years. I've literally driven the car to the MOT centre and back home again!

The only modifications to standard are slightly lower suspension springs and drilled/grooved brake discs.  The discs were only a little more expensive than standard so I thought it was worth it.  The springs were fitted as in my opinion these cars sit too high as standard.  Its suppose to be a 'hot hatch' after all! photo SDC11285_zpstchtwurl.jpg
