PAL Nintendo 3DS XL console with USB capture card installed by myself. This is genuine hardware and not the software-based version that some sellers has listed for the same price or higher. The console connects to a PC using a micro USB cable and displays the image and audio from both 3DS screens using video display software. The console does not come with a charger, USB cable or memory card.

The capture cards have been tested and work on Windows 7, 8 and 10, as well as OSX 10.8 and higher. All cards are tested on Windows 10 (64 bit) once assembled and installed. Please note that use on Windows 7 and 8 may require the installation of additional drivers and files.

The main purpose of the capture card is to display video footage. Sound capture over USB is possible, but it is currently a beta feature of the viewing software and is not officially supported. Best sound quality can be achieved by recording audio using a 3.5mm lead via the console's headphone jack; the same applies to any other capture cards currently available to buy.

FAQ

Why do you not include a charger or USB cable?
Because the 3DS XL does not come with a charger when new, most do not have a charger when I buy them, so including a charger would only mean adding on a cost which would have to be passed on to the buyer. This also applies to the USB cable, which many people will already own as it's a regular micro USB cable.

Are you going to have any other types of 3DS/2DS consoles available?
Short answer: no. I'm am working on other versions, but have no idea if or when any will be available.

Are you going to be listing any NTSC (US) consoles?
In the past I've done NTSC consoles on request, but for the foreseeable future I will only list them when they are available to dispatch immediately, so if you want an NTSC console, just keep an eye on my listings and they will become available from time to time.

Why is "X" console the same price or more/less than "Y" console?
At the moment I am trying to average out all consoles at £299.99 before postage in order to make it easier to buy, list and sell them. This means that some consoles might be in better condition than others, but be listed at the same price. Obviously certain consoles, such as limited editions, will always cost slightly more to buy and therefore sell.

Can you fit the capture card to my own 3DS console?
Yes! Please check out my other listings to see if I currently have any boards available to fit or contact me. Please note that this service is 100% UK only, no exceptions.

Can you sell me a capture card for me to fit myself?
No. I essentially charge for my services in fitting them, as it's a very hard install and not recommended for anyone but expert solderers. It wouldn't be worth my time to sell them loose, plus it would make eBay returns and claims for faulty items very difficult to manage.

Is your capture card the same as Katsukity's or Loopy's?
The card uses the same method as Katsukity's to get the 3DS video signals and therefore uses the same software and drivers, although the capture card itself is physically different. This means that any online material about setting up the capturing software or troubleshooting Katsukity's cards will also apply to mine.

How can I update the video software/drivers?
Both are provided by a Japanese company called Non-Standard and are available at blog-non-standard.blogspot.co.uk

How do I record video from the capture card?
The purpose of the capture card is to display footage from the 3DS console on a PC. You can then use any video capture software to record your PC desktop such as OBS.

What if something goes wrong with my console?
Check the "Returns" section just below for details. I should however point out that I've only had one return out of about 30-40 capture cards sold and that was due to an issue with the console and not the card itself.

Returns

I will accept returns for any reason within 30 days, in accordance with eBay policy and UK legislation. Please note that returns due to software incompatibility will not be accepted outside of the 30 day period, and any returns due to software incompatibility within the 30 day period will be refunded minus original postage costs. Any returns due to hardware failure will be refunded in full or repaired and returned, depending on which you would prefer.
