Welcome to my auction, today I will be selling a speaker that is hardly ever seen let alone for sale. This is the speaker that started it all for Mr Lansing, this pre dates the D130. It is said to be an exact copy of the Altec-lansing 515. The address on the driver dates this to 1948. Just google JBL D101 and read about how this driver effect JBL history. Below are some links to fliers and the history of JBL. Lets get to the driver itself. The drivers basket and voice coil are in great condition. Unfortunately the cone is dry rotted from sun/moister, The driver will need a new cone. The pictures speak from themselves. Also think of this, you will be buying a piece that was most likely constructed by Jim Lansing him self and/or is family. You will find no other JBL product that was touched by the master as he died in 1949. I would keep this rare bird for my self but at last it would just end up sitting on a self. the shipping price will included delivery confirmation, items that
receive a winning bid over $100.00 will automatically receive insurance.
Items will be shipped parcel post, occasionally I will ship via
priority mail, it depends on location and/or size. If you would like
priority shipping please contact me. I will ship international but
please contact me for a quote before bidding. Records and other media
may be shipped media mail. Shipping price also includes all handling
charges and all packaging materials. Items will be wrapped in bubble
wrap/foam wrap and packed in styrofoam not packing peanuts. Go Green all
my packing supplies are recycled from department/furniture Stores!
Parts may be remove and wrapped separate to avoid damage in shipping. Due to ebays new fee policy, shipping overcharges will be used as handling fee to pay the fee tacked onto shipping and will not be refunded. Rising ebay fees and postage fees are not allowing me to keep my shipping cost cheap. I apologize for this. Typical
handling time for packages doesn't exceed 3 business days; My shipping
days are typically Monday-Thursday. I expect payment of item within 5
business days. All my items are sold as-is! there are no guarantees of
any kind but what is offered with the shipping insurance. Some of the
items I sell are vintage electronics, please remember that most are over
40 years old and they may require maintenance. Most are also un
restored, before daily use I recommend a full restoration. If you prefer
to pick up your item, it must be picked up with in one week, over a
week and I will charge a storage fee. If you would like more pictures or
need more information please let me know. If pictures don't show up in description, let me know and I will send you the links.

On Apr-07-11 at 09:41:26 PDT, seller added the following information: For some reason I got JBL's first 2 locations mixed up on the dating. The speaker is about 2 years older then what I said, probably built in 1946 and not 1948.
