This listing includes a beautiful, and large, Italian art pottery table lamp.  The handpainted scenes on both sides are absolutely amazing.  I'm not sure what culture they represent but one side depicts, what I believe are, lovers.  The other side shows middle eastern style buildings along a lake or sea shore.  There are figural lion heads and angels? on either side of the urn shaped body.

I disassembled the lamp enough to get a picture of the mark on the bottom.  It reads "Italy Paul's 5838?".  My research shows that "Paul's" was a mark used on Italian wares imported into New Jersey from the mid 1950s through the 1980s.  The importer used many different artists so the maker may never be known.  Judging by the hardware on this lamp, I would estimate that it was manufactured in the late 50s to mid 60s.

The ceramic body of the lamp has absolutely no damage or repair.  There are a few glaze pops/misses but nothing that is not original to the manufacturing process.  The ornate metal base has a beaded trim around the bottom.  That beading has come loose in one area near the cord (see pics). It lays in place for the most part but could be tacked back in place with solder I'm sure.

Overall approximate dimensions are:  12" diameter base, 13" diameter at lions, 27" tall to top of angels, 42 1/2" tall to top of finial.  Due to its size the lamp will be "oversized" when packaged for safe shipping. This increases costs substantially. See my note under "Shipping".

The electrical cord and plug appear to be original to the lamp.  Although they are in working order I would suggest rewiring for safety purposes.  The cord has some light teeth marks, from a dog or cat, but nothing that bares wires.  The socket has a 3 way switch that is in working order.  I pulled the old green felt away on the bottom so that I could get to the mark.  I haven't glued it back.  I'm leaving that up to the buyer in case they want to replace it.

Please see the pictures and, if I've left anything out, contact me with questions.

Please feel free to email with any questions prior to bidding. I try to give any information I have about the listings, and to tell you whether the information is fact or opinion. I have a "full refund option" (see returns below) policy for anything I misrepresent. My description will point out anything I find that could possibly be considered a flaw. For this reason, many past buyers felt that they received a better product than they expected.

SHIPPING CHARGES:  Due to it's size, this lamp will be oversized (37x18x18) when packaged for safe delivery.  I've added the USPS parcel post calculator to the listing with no handling or packaging fees. Fedex Ground is also available and could be less, especially if you have a commercial delivery address.  Free pick up in Williston, FL is an option.  If you live on the west coast please allow that transit time and costs will be more than average from Florida.

INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS: I'm sorry but the lamp is too large to ship internationally. I am happy to ship to a confirmed US address for you.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: Once you examine your purchase, please email, or leave positive feedback, to confirm receipt and satisfaction. If you encounter any problem with your service or product, I ask that you contact me, via Ebay, so that I have the opportunity to resolve the issue. Every negative feedback that I have received (in 12 years of selling) was left by a buyer who did not contact me.

FEEDBACK:  I leave feedback weekly for customers with cleared payments. Once you have received your purchase, please consider leaving me the best feedback possible.  If my service or product did not meet your expectations in any way please contact me.
