Charming Brass Snuff Box dating to the mid 1800′s, I adore this shape, it was designed to fit comfortably within a pocket and was very popular at the time.

It is in very good condition with the original hinge which is in excellent working order. Inside the lid as you can see are the remains of a Striking Plate which would have been used to light Vestas, the lid itself fits well.

A really lovely example with just a stylish design on the lid which forms a Cartouche, there is a name engraved but this could easily be removed and another engraved which would personalise this if you were giving it as a gift to someone.

The colour and patina are good and this would make a fine addition to any collection.

Measurements are approx 2″ wide and 3″ high and depth about 1″
