To fit the front of BMW 3-Series E46 ('98 - '04)

The alloy is an original BMW part, and has been subject to the best and most complete refurbishment available.  There are no curb marks.  There are no scratches.  There are no areas of corrosion.  It is, quite literally, as new. 

Before refurbishment, the only defect it had was curbing marks. It did not need repairing in any way other than removing the curbing marks.  There were no cracks before, and no welds after!

Alloy Wheel Refurbishment Process

Step 1

  • Alloy Wheel is chemically stripped, then put through a cleaning machine to remove all chemical deposits and dirt and finally shot blasted with appropriate media to remove final stubborn remaining particles.
  • Surface is smoothed and levelled, if necessary, using a filler suitable for alloys.

Step 2

  • Alloy Wheel is then put into oven to remove any trapped air, then into spray booth for a coating of powder coating primer.
  • Back into oven to be baked for necessary time to ensure curing has been completed, and then left to cool to a temperature suitable for painting.

Step 3

  • Alloy Wheel front is painted and if necessary, the inside.
  • Flashed off in oven, then inspected for further coats if necessary.

Step 4

  • A powder lacquer is then applied to the face and inside (powder lacquers are highly durable)
  • Oven baked, then removed and inspected for a final time, then left to cool.

It has not been on a car since refurbishing, and is in the condition you see in the photos.

These MV1 alloys are notorious for cracks, both on the inside rim (especially the rears), and where the arms meet the front rim.  Hairline cracks in the paint can signal cracks, but some alloys are cracked beneath the paint and are only visible when the paint is removed.  All our alloys are check rigorously for cracks, and if any are found the alloy is scrapped.  In our opinion, welding over cracks is at best temporary, and at worst dangerous.  We scrap about a quarter of all MV1 alloys for this reason.  Please bear this in mind when looking at other second hand used MV1 alloys.

We can supply an original BMW centre cap (as shown) at extra cost, but it comes with the original BMW M-Tech sticker.

The tyre size for this alloy is 225/40 R18, and will fit the front of all BMW 3-Series E46 range.  The alloy does not have a tyre fitted.

We are based between Reading (M4) and Basingstoke (M3) and are regularly near Heathrow, so we could arrange collection from any point nearby.  Alternatively, we can send it to you (in mainland UK, except Highlands and Islands) via courier for £14.99.  We usually dispatch same day if payment received before 12pm, but I've put 2 working days in case.
