This Japanese water dropper is bronze and is in the shape of a double gourd. The water dropper is 5 inches long, 3 ¼ inches wide and 4 inches high to the top of the handle. The finial on the top is in a double gourd shape. It is decorated on each side with 4 people, possibly immortals moving over the waves. The piece has a four character mark impressed in the bottom that we have not been able to identify. The piece is quite unique. It dates to the Meiji period from the late 19th century. There is wear to the bronze finish in spots but no damage.
