This Japanese water dropper is bronze and is in the shape of a double gourd. The water dropper is 5 inches long, 3 ¼ inches wide and 4 inches high to the top of the handle. The finial on the top is in a double gourd shape. It is decorated on each side with 4 people, possibly immortals moving over the waves. The piece has a four character mark impressed in the bottom that we have not been able to identify. The piece is quite unique. It dates to the Meiji period from the late 19^th century. There is wear to the bronze finish in spots but no damage.
