The Garmin VIRB Elite is an HD 1080p action camera that will wildly enhance all your outdoor experiences. The VIRB Elite is enduringly durable and gives you enhanced HD video recording with Wi-Fi and advanced GPS functions such as preset recording profiles. For example, the Ski profile records during your run but automatically pauses when you hit the bottom. The 1.4-inch Chroma color display stays on when the camera is on, but uses only a tiny bit of power. You can use the display to set up shots, play video and adjust menu settings without detaching the camera. To film, all you need to do is move the slider switch forward and you’ll be recording at 1080p for up to three hours with a rechargeable lithium ion battery. You’ll be sure to get great footage with features like digital Image Stabilization and Lens Distortion Correction.

Your VIRB Elite records 1080p HD video, giving you lifelike images of all your adventures. In addition to 1080p@30fps, you can adjust resolution and filming speed for slow motion up to 120fps. You’ll see it through the WideVu lens, processed through a 16 megapixel CMOS sensor. Multiple HD video modes: 1080p@30fps, 960p@48fps, 720p@30/60fps, 848x480@120fps.

A gorgeous display
No need to hope for the shot. You’ll make sure you get it with the VIRB Elite. You can set up, preview and play back video on the VIRB Elite built-in, full-color chroma 1.4-inch display. The display serves as your window to the menu settings. Before you start your adventure, choose slow motion or switch between video and still photography. And it doesn’t use much battery at all.

The battery that won’t die
The VIRB Elite features a 2000 mAH lithium ion battery that lasts up to three hours recording 1080p video. If you need to recharge, connect it to your computer or plug it into a regular wall socket. If you need more filming time, you can simply buy a replacement battery.

Connect to your phone
The VIRB Elite is Wi-Fi compatible so you can connect wirelessly to your smartphone or computer. Use Wi-Fi to see image previews and control playback and camera settings.

Film the good stuff
The VIRB Elite has a high-sensitivity GPS for data stamping and GPS-based smart recording profiles. For example, in Skiing mode, your video will record when you’re going downhill, and stops when you’re at the bottom.

Sensing sensors
The VIRB Elite ‘s ANT+ wireless connectivity is compatible with Garmin external sensors. You can combine it with the tempe wireless temperatire sensor, speed/cadence bike sensor and premium heart rate monitor to add sensor information to your videos. You can see your heart rate, speed, and other information. The VIRB Elite also comes with a built-in accelerometer and altimeter for data stamping and custom filming profiles.

User-friendly
Garmin designed VIRB Elite to be user-friendly. It put the instant recorder on the side of the camera so you can instantly switch modes, even with gloves. Its sleek body ensures the VIRB Elite won’t get in the way of your adventures. So you can snowboard or zip-line without worry.

Remote controls
The VIRB Elite uses ANT+ wireless connectivity so you can use compatible Garmin products, including the fenix, Oregon and Edge as remote controls. In late 2013, Garmin will release a remote control with the same ANT+ connectivity, so you’ll never have to remove the camera from the mount.

A stable image
When you use the Digital Stabilization feature, your VIRB Elite becomes more stable so you can handle bumpy rides. Lens Distortion Correction enhances your video quality.

HD pics
Yeah the VIRB Elite records video, but it also takes amazing still photos. Its 16 megapixel camera capture LDC gives you sharper, clearer photos. Shoot 16- , 12-, or 8-megapixel as a single shot or use Photo Burst or Time Lapse. It’s processed through a 16-megapixel CMOS processor to give you the highest quality photos.

Video and photos at the same time
Just because you want to shoot a photo doesn’t mean you need to pause your video. The VIRB Elite lets you do both at the same time with the touch of a button.

Easy edits
Use VIRB Elite Edit, free desktop software you can download that gives you intuitive video editing with Garmin inter-compatibility. VIRB Elite Edit can match your video and Edge bike computer to add speed and cadence to a cycling video, for example.

Easily mounted
The VIRB Elite has a ton of mounts that firmly lock your camera into position. There’s curved and flat deck and dash mounts, and helmet, shoulder, handlebar and multi-use strap mounts. VIRB Elite mounts have joints that interlock and grip in place instead of relying on tension. That means more reliable, sturdy performance.

It’s waterproof, too
The VIRB Elite is waterproof (IPX7¹) as soon as you take it out of the box. And you can use the optional Dive Case to increase waterproofing to 50 meters.
