"Tribe of Gad" from the Chagall Mezuzah Collection is a Limited Edition
Masterpiece – a full colour silkscreen set in a 24K gold plated bronze case.
Both the silkscreen and case bear a
replica of Mark Chagall's signature. The mezuzah is shipped in a deluxe red
velvet gift case along with an official certificate of authenticity.
The colorful silkscreen has been adapted
from Marc Chagall's famous set of 12 stained glass windows (each one signifying
one of the tribes of Israel) installed at the Hadassah Medical School Synagogue
in Ein Kerem. This mezuzah is a replica of Chagall’s “Tribe of Gad” window.
Chagall's distinctive use of colour and form was influenced by Russian
Expressionism and French Cubism. His numerous works represent vivid
recollections of Russian Jewish village scenes, as well as incidents in his
private life. Biblical themes characterize a series of etchings executed
between 1925 and 1939 illustrating the Old Testament.
Pieces from this product line have been
given as gifts by Israel to visiting heads of state and foreign dignitaries
The edition is limited to 3000 copies, in honor of Jerusalem's 3000th anniversary.
Size is 5" x 1.4" or 13 cm x 3.3 cm.
