This is from a relative's estate and has been sitting in a closet for about 50 years. I'm no Leica expert but this looks pretty nice for its age. It has the "L" seal still intact so it has never been torn down but everything seems to function OK. All knobs and buttons work as they're supposed to. I have no way to check the shutter speeds but the shutter functions and it "sounds" OK. The viewfinder seems bright and the lines in it are bright and easy to see. There are a few specs of dust in the viewfinder but they don't hamper it's function. The leatherette covering the body is really nice with no missing or loose pieces. There is a small ding on the back of the camera directly beneath the "DIN ASA" dial (on the black metal, not the leatherette or chrome) and there are a few scuffs here and there as you would find on a used camera. Please review the pictures closely. The body cap is the original Leica cap. I am also posting other Leica pieces (lenses and stuff) on other auctions tonight if I get time so check them out if you're interested. This camera is also for sale locally in case someone makes me a ridiculous offer.

I should have said "sitting in the closet for about 40 years" as the s/n of this camera (#1055558) shows that is was made in 1962 and I'm sure that the owner used it for more than a couple of years before putting it away. I was basing my estimation on the fact that, as a boy, I'd always heard about this old camera that my uncle had buried in a closet that he'd have to get out and show me someday (and I'm 51). I didn't get into photography until I was 13 so I'm sure it wouldn't have been brought up to me before then.
