The 1939-1945 War Military Medal was instituted in 1945. It has been given to soldiers of ground army of the Polish Military Forces who fought on the West for their activity during WWII. The award could have been given four times to one person, and each awarding was by putting horizontal bar on ribbon. This Award has not been recognized to the award system of the People Republic of Poland. Only the Republic of Poland Parliament Act form 1992 recognized the War Military Medal as the military award in Polish award system, simultaneously the awarding was recognized finish.
