The Fat Lady by Blade kiteboarding has been one of the most popular light wind kites in the world since its debut in 2011. Blade got this kite right from day one and as a result it received outstanding reviews across the world and was in very high demand. The Fat lady wasn't just about getting every last bit of power out of light winds, but building a kite that you can have fun with, rather than just cruising about. Suddenly light winds were fun again and although some kites even managed to squeeze an extra knot of low end cruising the Fat lady was busy popping, jumping and having fun.
Blade have had 4 years to build and improve on the original kite taking on board all the reviews and feedback from all types of riders. And 4 years on the much anticipated V3 Fat lady arrived in 2015. Improvements from the V2 have been all about improving jumping ability, extra low end and upwind ability. A new bridle configuration has allowed for the kite to fly further forward in the wind window increasing upwind performance and jumping. The new configuration has also offered more support to allow for an even thinner leading edge, reducing drag and making the kite faster through the air. Lastly a new wing tip shape has increased the power of this kite adding a little extra to the low end.
For the 3rd Generation Fat Lady, Blade have taken one of the best light wind kites on the market and improved it in many ways and we absolutely love this light wind kite and we know you will too.
The Blade Uni-bar V2 is one of the most exciting new kiteboarding products we have seen. It was 2 years in design and can only be explained as having the best bits of any bar we have seen all combined. In fact it was so impressive that kite world magazine ran a 4 page feature on its design. Every part of this bar has been thought out, tested, tweaked, and redesigned until it was what we think is easily the best kitesurfing bar on the market today. Almost everything is custom moulded with few off the shelf parts. Anyone who has tried it loves it.
Here's what we like about it from the bottom up :
