Description

One of the oldest cultivated plants in the world, bottle gourd is a climbing plant which bears hard-shelled and bottle-shaped gourds as fruits.
The dried and hollowed-out shell of one of these fruits, often used as a container, a drinking utensil, a musical instrument or a birdhouse.
Bottle gourds is an annual vine having white flowers and smooth, large, hard-shelled gourds. Grown most often in warmer climates, this squash grows from 6 to 36 inches long and 3 to 12 inches in diameter.
