F.A.Q.
1. Why the light is 300W (or other watt) in the listing, but the actual power consumption is 180W+/-3%?
As you know that the big advantage of led light is power saving, so it needs less power to run the light. There are white, blue and red LEDs in the led grow light and the voltage of white and blue led is 3.2-3.4v and voltage of red led is 2.2-2.4v. And consuming less power will not affect function of the light to plants.
All LED grow lights run well below their named or marketed levels for the hydroponics gardening, usually at anything from between 50% to 65% of their potential horticulture plants. If you run a 1 Watt at 1Watt continuously or a 3W at 3W you have a greater chance of color shift and will also cut its life (hours) down considerably, just as you would running a car at high revs all the time.
Again, if you see a light advertised as 450 Watts using 150 x 3W LEDs its actual draw will be more like 250 Watts. You can work out the actual output or draw of any LED grow light using a volts, watts and amps calculator for indoor farming. If the company selling the lights does not advertise the Volts and Amps then you have to wonder why and assume they are run at 60% of capacity
2. If one LED is broken, will it affect working of other LEDs?
No! It wont affect other LEDs, the others are still work. Our design is that every led has a protective diode, It is very safe.
3. How about the performance of led grow light compare with HID/HPS lighting?
LED lights cost more money to front, but you will save about 50% power consumption of the light, cooling costs (very expensive in the summer) and annual bulb replacement. Follow the guidelines for recommended coverage area, and your LEDs will impress you with their yield. Comparing with HPS/MH bulbs LEDs will reduce much heat output, and also substantially reduces the risk of a fire hazard, especially in an enclosed space. Our led grow light mainly are red and blue spectrum, these two spectrums are the peak of plants absorption.
4. Does this light emit much heat?
LEDs are the most efficient lights nowadays. They produce so little heat that you can actually let the plant touch the light (although it's not recommended - as you will reduce the size of your growing area). Any heat produced by the unit is absorbed by the heat sink and dissipated by the fans in the rear of the light.
