Wolfson WM8741 chip is Wolfson Company’s flagship — top-of-the-line chip, which is most expensive — best signal-to-noise-ratio. What it all means is that the analogue sound coming out of the device is white and natural across infrequency range. from the deepest notes to highest treble, delivering clean well distinguishable instruments sound that is easy to listen.

We have also incorporated Valve signal processing that is also a CRITICAL part of the overall end result. When it comes to professional valve design it certainly makes a big difference in how your music sounds. I have yet to come across an Op-Amp that will match an acoustic characteristics of a professionally designed Valve output.

Of course every component in audio chain effects the audio signal such as capacitors, power supplies, resistors, internal wires etc. We have got it all taken care of and designed for optimum audio performance to make sure you actually hear the difference. The aluminium enclosure and the front real wood panel are ONLY used to accommodate the internal parts of the DAC and not belong to Unison Research Co. (Please note, the future DAC assembly will have our own aluminium enclosure that will reflect in its price).

This DAC is suitable for Mid Range as well as High End audio system alike. It shouldn`t take long to notice the sonic difference in musical performance, especially in sound stage and instrument separation. The Woolfson chips are very natural sounding, therefore helping you to hear your music as close to real sounding instruments as possible.

POINTS to mention.

When the Valve DAC switched off, it will make a click or a thump dull sound due to the nature of Valve equipment. If you plan do not leave the DAC ON all the time than before switching it OFF it is recommended to turn the volume down.

The valve design is custom made to allow maximum performance for Woolfson Chips therefore a more involving sound reproduction to us as a listeners. If possible, please use this DAC with a high quality digital coaxial cable, preferably silver one it will help to hear of what the Valve DAC is really capable of.
