Antique playing chess set in bovine bone, probably dating to the late part of the 19th century/early 20th century, and originating in northern mainland Europe, possibly the Netherlands. The knights heads are peculiarly Nordic in shape and look more like dragons than horses! The set is in good over;; condition, with good colour and just a few light scuff marks here and there, although l red pawn is a replacement. King = 88mm.  The set comes in its original slide-topped chess box.  Unfortunately, neither the box or the set have any makers mark.

Should you need further photos or condition clarification I will be happy to provide them. SN787  Free postage within the UK;  overseas buyers £18 for tracked, insured, signed for postage.  A good working set of its type, and looks good on display.
