Mercury Vi is a substantially upgraded range of loudspeakers based on the fifth generation of Tannoy’s best-selling Mercury series. Offering outstanding performance and value for money the ‘i’ enhancements include a raft of component and tuning upgrades to ensure the range continues to deliver class leading performance at a budget price point.

The Mercury V1i is a compact stand-mount loudspeaker offering outstanding flexibility and class-leading performance. As a front stereo pair the Mercury V1i excels at delivering dynamic bass and the musical articulation of much more costlier designs. Its high current handling is equally at home in home theatre systems where Mercury V1i’s easy to drive nature and deep bass punch are compatible with a wide range of AV amplifiers and receivers. Comprehensively upgraded from the award winning Mercury V1, the new Mercury V1i features an all-new magnesium alloy dome tweeter offering an extremely wide bandwidth and incredibly detailed high frequency response. This true Wideband tweeter extends treble to 53kHz, giving a wide soundstage and more accurate articulation of instruments.

The Mercury V1i also benefits from an upgraded crossover with high quality components, high purity silver plated wiring and enhanced Differential Material Technology (DMT) damping on the HF capacitors. This high tech engineering, distilled down from Tannoy’s high-end loudspeaker designs, ensures Mercury V1i delivers true class-leading acoustic performance.With its compact cabinet and breath taking performance, the Mercury V1i is an all-round loudspeaker for systems where space is at a premium. As a refined two channel stereo music system or as part of a multi-channel home theatre setup Mercury V1i delivers truly outstanding performance and value. To cater for both modern and more traditional decor, Mercury V1i is available in either sugar maple or dark walnut finish.

Advanced Wideband tweeter
Key to the Mercury V1i is an all-new magnesium-aluminium alloy tweeter offering an extremely wide bandwidth and incredibly detailed high frequency response. With a bandwidth extending out to 53 kHz, Mercury V1i delivers a wide soundstage and incredibly accurate instrument reproduction. Guitars sound fuller and more energetic, strings have a more natural timbre and space, and snare drums have faster more realistic leading edge attack.

Rigid braced cabinet
Revised internal bracing on the new Mercury V1i creates a solid and compact cabinet with very low colouration. Built from wood pulp and high density fibre loaded board, each cabinet benefits from low frequency port-tuning allowing Mercury V1i to punch out dynamic bass rhythms like a much larger loudspeaker.

Crossover with Differential Materials Technology™
The Mercury V1i crossover features higher tolerance components, new wiring and the use of Tannoy’s bespoke Differential Material Technology™ (DMT) damping on the HF capacitors. Designed to seamlessly integrate the new tweeter with the stiff but light pulp fibre mid / bass cone, first introduced on Mercury V, the new crossover offers smoother integration and a greater sense of musicality and communication. Bass response is deeper and more accurate, giving Mercury V1i an even cleaner and more vibrant presentation than its award-winning predecessor.

High purity silver-plated wiring
Unheard of in a budget loudspeaker design, Tannoy’s engineers found that this high quality silver plated oxygen-free copper cable gives Mercury V1i speakers better air and space in treble detailing. The result is a more articulate and detailed sound with resolution of fine detail and micro dynamics on par with speakers costing much more.

Mounting flexibility
The Mercury Vi range (except V4i) can be easily wall mounted for convenience and a discreet look in the home. Each unit is fitted with two screw-sockets, securely fastened into the cabinet body for use with a wide range of third-party loudspeaker brackets. In addition to these mounting sockets the dedicated wall-mount Mercury VRi rear speaker comes with twin key-hole mounts for simple and cost-effect screw or bolt fixing flush to the wall.
