To those who don't know, Morgion play strongly death metal-influenced doom. Guttural vocals and uptempo sections occasionally come into play during the epic compositions, but for the most part, this is a fine doom metal offering, combining extremely heavy riffing at times with slow, majestic, keyboard-laden atmospheric flourishes. Hauntingly beautiful while still being massively heavy. Morgion weave out five anguished offerings on this album, every one of them an amazement in itself, each one sorrowfully adept at proving that Morgion are an awesome band and deserve more recognition than they currently garner. This vinyl release is the FIRST EVER by this great band and contains a bonus track from a 1995 demo that is quality. Even though every song is fantastic, the third song is just so completely awe-inspiring that it's worth the cost alone...but when you're talking about "Among Majestic Ruin", there's no need to mince words: you owe it to youself to get it immediately.
