Extremely rare and early motorcycling trophy/prize in the form of an engraved sterling silver cigarette case. The trophy was won by top motorcyclist of the day, W.D. South. The front of the case bears the monogram of the winner "WDS". The obverse is engraved "W.D. SOUTH A.C.U. QUARTERLY TRIAL OCT. 14 1911. NON STOP". The package comes complete with a copy photo of W.D. South which was captioned "With his 750cc Rudge Multi outfit, W.D. South corners at Tow Top in the 1912 One-Day Trial".

Auto-Cycle Union (A.C.U.): The ACU was founded in 1903 as the Auto-Cycle Club with the aim of developing motorsport through clubs and arranging touring facilities for individual members. It was re-named the Auto-Cycle Union in 1907 and organised a series of Quarterly Trials and National Six Day Events.
