Offered is an 1894 vintage Ellsworth’s New Reversible Writing Book – Slanting Edition.  This copybook has instructions printed on the paper wraps, and includes 24 practice pages.  Each page is lined, and has a printed written sentence on the top line(s).  The student practicing penmanship fills in the rest of the page.  There is a blotter attached to the back cover that can also be used as a bookmark.  This book was published by the Werner Company of Chicago and New York.  The covers (both inside and out) are brown on brown like photo #1.  The pics that have a green tinge are a result of my poor choice for a background color (red).

The book measures 7 ½ inches by 9 inches.  Its binding consists of hand-tied red string, which is still intact.  The book is in very good condition.  Only 1 page has been used (2 lines of writing).  The remaining 23 pages are untouched.  The covers are toned and lightly soiled, and the covers have stained the first and last practice pages.  The blotter is clean and still attached.  Please refer to photos to judge condition for yourself.
