A c 1933 set of salad or second course knives and forks. Community plate by Oneida  with the BS kite mark 5577.
 British Standards were established in 1901 to standardise manufacturing in Engineering. The Standard 5577 refers to cutlery and flatware.
Oneida were an American company who purchased William Rogers a lead exponent of the silver plating manufacturing process in the UK. They were a utopian company who from the mid 19th c ran businesses to support local communities.
This particular pattern is the Hampton Court Coronation pattern 1933.
It is in delightful condition and unusually in a very comprehensive canteen/(box)
Each knife measures 20 cm which is for the salad course (main course knives are about 22 cm)
Each fork measures 16 cm.
Community Plate is engraved to the front of each knife.
