Franklin Mint high end die-cast collectors's model in 1:48th scale

Army Air Force Bases Unit Douglas C-47A Skytrain Troop Transport - Search and Rescue, "Chardie", 1352nd AAFBU, Mohanbari, Assam, India, 1945
The model is NEW and looks absolutely stunning - it has been in storage for several years and has only ever been removed from it's box for the photography used in this listing. I've handled hundreds of FM aircraft, this is a rare item, it is the only example of this model I have ever seen. The original box is in very good condition with only a little shelf wear at the corners / edges.

"Chardie" is a baby girl's name and means "charitable" in the Punjabi language local to Mohanbari airfield, Assam, India.

The C-47 was one of the most successful aircraft ever, praised by General Eisenhower as one of the most important instruments of victory in WWII. Largely a military version of the highly successful Douglas DC-3 passenger aircraft, the C-47 Dakota carried supplies, airborne troops, and other personnel in all of the theaters of conflict in WWII.
