Tommasini Air Prestige Classic Road Bike 1986

While many bicycle builders have been offering different quality ranges to meet the expectations of a wider circle of customers, Irio Tommasini did nothing alike. The artisan frame manufacture in Grosseto, Tuscany knows nothing but one category of frames - top class. And what else would you expect from someone who worked together with the great Giuseppe Pelà?
His expertise and relentless quality-oriented craftsmanship found him fame and fans all around the globe, as did his beautifully executed frames.
Here is one of his legendary frames, a Tommasini Air Prestige from the 1986. As on any Tommasini frame you will find engravings and pantographs aplenty. The tubes themselves are Columbus SL, the famous steel tubes which were the choice for generations of professional riders. Here they are ovalised into a more aerodynamic shape.
The groupset is a Campagnolo Super Record of the last generation, which is a bit of a classic approach. When the frame was made, there were already newer groups available. But just like almost every other bike builder in Italy, Tommasini offered also a Super Record equipped model.
The paint of this bike has been designed to show a vivid grid pattern, which is also quite typical for the 1980s and gives the additional extravaganza you would expect from a Tommasini bike.
