A golden opportunity to acquire a rare larger size Original ARC Winter weight uniform.
In oxford grey winter weight with single breasted jacket which closes with 4 ARC buttons. It has 2 simulated breast pockets and 2 hip pockets. Horizon blue collar tabs and blackened bronze ARC insignia pins on each collar.
Red chevrons denoting 6 years service and 7 silver bars denote 3 ½ years of overseas service.
The shoulder patch is the “Services to armed forces” that replaced the Military Welfare patch in July 1945.
The uniform comes with the earlier patch (Military Welfare) and the red cross cut out pin that is worn at the neck of the blouse.
On the right hand shoulder there is a US Army 25th Division patch.
All insignia and patches are original to the uniform.
The skirt is a 6 panel and closes with a side metal zip and button on the waistband.
No manufacturer's label but does have original owners initials in both the jacket and skirt. (ELW)
Condition
The uniform is in very nice condition, considering its age, with only a couple of minor imperfections. All plastic buttons are present and correct.
Jacket - It has 1 pin head size hole on the right hand sleeve just below the elbow.
Skirt – Has 2 very small catches on the zip hem. (Can be seen on the skirt photo)
This uniform is approximately a UK Modern Size 14 but please go by the following measurements:-
Jacket:-
Bust – Underarm to underarm = 20”
Shoulder to shoulder across the back = 17 ½ ”
Outer Sleeve length (from shoulder to cuff) = 23”
Overall length (inc the collar) = 26”
Skirt
Waist = 16 “ (Total 32”)
Overall length from top of waistband to hem = 27”
