Zenith is among the most aristocratic names in the world of fine watch making. Zenith revolutionized the watch making industry, creating the world’s first automatic chronograph movement, the infamous El Primero. Zenith continues to meet its challenge, cultivating beauty and mechanical accuracy with perfection.
The featured watch is Zenith El Primero Tourbillon in Stainless Steel case measuring 44mm of diameter. Fixed Bezel. Powered by Automatic movement made in-house by Zenith, Unique cut-away that partially skeletonizes the movement by exposing the masterful Tourbillon at 11 o'clock, as well at a rotating Date Indicator. It comes in Silver Dial with Silver-tone hands and Index hours markers. with Luminescent hands and markers. Minute markers around the outer rim. Three-30 minutes, 12 hours and Tourbillon carriage.
Functions: Hours, Minutes, Seconds, Date & Chronograph. Scratch resistant sapphire Crystal. Transparent Exhibition. Brown Leather Strap with Deployment clasp. Water Resistant at 100meters/330feet.
The Tourbillon,was originally designed by Abraham Louis Breguet to counteract the gravitational effects on the movement of a pocket watch. The current attraction of the Tourbillon is not in its original function proposed by Breguet, but rather as a recognized feat of horological expertise. The assembly of a Tourbillon is quite complex, as the balance and escapement is placed within a cage performing one revolution per minute.
Personal Note: The Holy Grail for many connoisseurs, a Tourbillon is the signature piece of most watch collectors.-- This particular watch is AWESOME! The movement is made in-house, based on the legendary "El Primero" and it incorporates a Chronograph as well as a Date indicator. The design is clean & balanced. The chronograph functions are neatly integrated on the dial in an asymmetrical fashion. The subdials are thankfully really easy to read. A small disc with a window in it is used to indicate the date, as it frames the exposed Tourbillon window that doubles as a subsidiary seconds dial.-- This is one of the few Tourbillon watches that I see myself wearing on a daily bases.
Zenith in-house made 4035D automatic tourbillon chronograph movement. Being a high-beat El Primero movement it runs at 36,000bpm and has a power reserve of 50 hours. The high frequency of the watch gives it added accuracy over other watches, especially tourbillons. Thus, you have something pretty accurate, and it is also an automatic.
