Tandoori Seasoning

Tandoori Seasoning

Description: This unique seasoning blend used is commonly referred to as Tandoori Masala, Tandoori Spice or Tandoori Rub. A masala is a mixture of spices. Our Tandoori Spice mix is a classic blend of fragrant spices specially selected to help you create mouth-watering tandoori dishes. If you love the taste of tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala, then our Tandoori Spice will help you create these dishes at home.

Interesting Fact: Did you know that tandoori gets its name from the oven that the dish is cooked in, known as a tandoor? It is made of clay and is cylindrical in shape and can reach temperatures of up to 480°C (900°F), this method of cooking dates back to 3000 B.C. Cooking food in this style of oven gives it a smokey flavour that partners well with the rich spices used. This style of cooking is found in the Indian, Pakistan and Afghan regions. As with most masalas and curries of this area, the recipes vary from village to village and even family to family. Other dishes cooked in this way include Naan bread, chicken tikka, paneer tikka, samosas and kebabs.
