Polished vs Natural Quartz.  The choice to use rough or polished is quartz crystal is a personal preference.  A perfect specimen, a broken warrior crystal, or a polished crystal each carry the same core vibrational energy.  Cutting and polishing can enhance a crystal’s appearance and create healing tools that are not available in nature. Devic Temple crystals are created by drastic temperature fluctuations that cause internal fracturing during the crystal's growth. Brazilian Citrine is heat treated. Natural citrine is created when amethyst or smokey quartz is heated with natural geo-thermal heat. Citrine created with natural heat is rare and expensive and is typically a dull smokey yellow color; it does not offer the intensity of color found heat treated Brazilian Citrine. Heating crystals changes the color but doesn’t change the molecular structure, so there is no discernible difference in crystals heated by nature or those heated by humans. The energetic quality of Citrine is determined by the intensity of the crystal’s color, size, and purity; color intensity is more important than the source of the heat. Honest and Ethical sellers will disclose that Brazilian Citrine is heat treated; beware of those who do not. Buyers should assume that any citrine specimens offered for sale have been heat treated, unless there is verifiable evidence to the contrary.
