akf31 is a Trading Assistant offering for sale on behalf of a client,

A pair of rare hand decorated pots from the the emblematic Dona pottery in Vietnam.

These Dona pottery vases had the distinguishing highly embossed enamel glazed figures design, on a raised scrolled incised pattern background. These particular vases have a rich deep burgundy color, with some very slight color unevenness due to the handmade nature of the piece. You can admire an army marching with swords and a flag emblem, behind the leader riding on a horse all around the vase. These vases are always glazed on the inside. Stamped on the bottom,it reads Dona Saigon. The base ring, where the vase sits, is unglazed and rough, but the vase stands steady and firm. These vases measure 10" high and 4 ½" in diameter at the widest part. The opening is 3" wide.

Extremely rare to find these vases available as a pair.

They are in excellent condition for their age, with no chips, cracks or scratches.
