Hotel V.I.P. Club Black Serial on Reflective Silver Base Vanity/Souvenir License Plate Auto Tag - Plate design lettering embossed,
material Aluminum. This plate/tag being sold
for collectible purposes only.
The 200 room hotel on S. Bayshore Dr. in Coconut Grove, Florida was built in 1983 and was known for it’s pyramid shaped design. In 1987 it earned the coveted 5 stars rating from Mobil, which also featured Regine's Nightclub on the penthouse level. Celebrities such as Michael Jackson, Sofia Loren, Prince and Elizabeth Taylor stayed at the hotel. After the 2008 recession hit, the hotel fell into disrepair and was completed abandoned by 2010. Demolition of the classic hotel is currently underway, with the Grove at Grand Bay taking it's place.
