This print was created for 1708 Gallery, where Shepard Fairey served as Honorary Chair. The print originally retailed for $75 and was only available for purchase from 1708 Gallery, either over the phone, via email, in-person at the gallery's "Mixology" art auction, or online through their website on 04/08/2013. It was not sold via Obeygiant.com.

The Station To Station series was inspired by the convergence of three of my interests: my love of ticket design, my love of David Bowie, and my love of travel, but at the same time demonstrating concern about the wear and tear our systems of transportation place upon the earth. I wanted to create a dynamic collage of graphic images that suggest the accumulation of world travel experiences. Woven into the different images are destinations, references to Bowie and Kraftwerk, images encouraging green technology, and cautionary phrases about carbon emissions. My goal was to make the series visually compelling, aspirational, and provocative in terms of the planet's delicate balances.

Station to Station - Virginia, I mixed some of my favorite elements from the series incorporated references to Virginia including an illustration of a Cardinal, the state bird. -Shepard
