SUPERB ANTIQUE VICTORIAN 19C EBONISED PICTURE FRAME AESTHETIC MOVEMENT 23X21CM*R

Description A SUPERB ANTIQUE VICTORIAN EBONISED PICTURE FRAME. *R = Rebate. Measuring approximately 34cms by 32cms and with a rebate size of 22.5cms by 20.5cms. N.B. If slip were to be removed the rebate size increases to 27cms by 24.5cms. A deep frame it is 4cms in depth. N.B. I have an identical frame to this one if anyone would like a pair. This is a really nice quality ebonised picture frame in excellent condition. Almost square in shape it's got a lot of age & dates to roughly 1900. I tend not to bother with ebonised pieces as most of them are so badly damaged, this one however is in very good if not excellent condition. It's a nice medium sized piece with a deep curved recessed border & a lovely black gesso inset to the sight. It has a fabric mount within, this may or may not be to your taste but it is original so for now I have left it in, if required I can easily remove it.  Removing it would increase the rebate size from 23/21cms to 27/25cms. There is a pleasing groove running around the whole of the frame (see last photo) a classic Victorian feature. A frame such as this will fit in well with a period Aesthetic/Japanese interior .. Condition: In very good to excellent condition, like I say 95% of ebonised frames that I come across are shot making this a true survivor - naturally there will be some minor age commensurate wear such as light marks etc which one would expect but certainly no major damages.  N.B. All of my frames have some form of age commensurate wear, this is NOT a modern repro, so there will be slight imperfections, however this is the essence of owning an antique picture frame.
