For sale here is one of the most sought after Beta player/recorders-- a Sears/Sanyo-based Beta max #564.53090252.

I bought this player new in 1985 when everyone knew BETA was the end-all to recorders; we had come as far as we could! Yeah, well, go figure ... just like people chose PCs over the far better Apples of the day, the Beta platform succumbed to VHS.

After being stored unplayed for years, I gave this machine a thorough going over. New belts, cleaned it inside and out and checked all the solderings & caps for any sign of damage. She's playing as well as ever now.

There are some minor scratches and tiny dings to the outside plastic here and there but nothing significant. It's really in very nice, overall condition.

You can see in the pictures where I have it open and have loaded a tape which states "Eric singing" and is dated 4/86. The next picture is of the taped engaged fully around the tape head, and the tape after that is of my now 34yo nephew Eric playing his dad's guitar & singing. Also, note that I have the patch cords running from the rear audio/video to the front of a Magnavox VHS/DVD recorder. I converted a dozen or so Beta tapes directly to DVD via this method after cleaning the machine. The results were very decent considering the age of the original "home movie" tapes. Naturally, the better the tape, the better the image. A few movie tapes look excellent on the DVDs!

With the Beta player/recorder, I'll include the RCA audio/video cables along with a single audio adapter.

Of course, it will be well-packed for shipping.
