Another spectacular and rare Pre Vendom watch with a NON MATCHING dial. This model has the most desirable black dial with a four line description of Luminor Panerai, Marina Militare. The numbers are "chubby", deep and yellow-orange in color! You will love the contrasting color patina on the numbers which are not similar in color to the hands. The PVD coating on the 44 mm stainless steel case is in wonderful condition. The movement is mechanical and in fine working order. It comes with box and papers (as shown in pictures), original Pre Vendom tan strap with its original sewn in gun metal grey PVD logo buckle. A second brown shark skin strap with a sewn in buckle is also included.

This is one of the grail watches of Panerai collecting!

Approximately 140 of these were created by the Panerai company prior to their affiliation (ownership) by the Richemont watch company. Very few of this model have survived since their inception in approximately 1993-94. Of the few that can be found, only a couple are known to be in this fine condition. And fewer have this rare dial. The PVD coating is original and in my opinion, in 98% condition or better. This is one of the finest specimens in the world!

The dial is SPECTACULAR! The numbers are "chubby"! A few 5218-202a watches have "non matching" dials. The writing on the dial and hands have a white hue, giving this dial a dynamic contrast!

With a black dial and military style PVD coating on the 44 mm case and patented locking crown, the yellow-orange color visually jumps off the dial!

Very few Panerai watches have dials with the words Marina Militare. This dial is special because it is considered a 4 liner. Meaning, it says "Luminor Panerai" printed just under the 12 o'clock marker and "Marina Militare" printed just above the 6 o'clock marker.

Created as a military tool watch, the style is simple yet dynamic! The mechanical movement is reliable and durable. And if looks could kill, this watch would be lethal! It comes with its original mahogany box, and Libretto (papers). Small brass screwdriver not present.
