The sketch shown in the gallery is by Gladys Emerson Cook (1899-1976), well-known for her drawings of animals, especially dogs. In case you can't read the caption, "Which twin has the Toni?" so appropriate for a 1950s book! This is a vintage (before 1965) reprint edition of a book originally published in 1950 by Viking. It does not have an SBN or ISBN number so it was probably published before 1965. Oversize, 121 pages, many art illustrations, cartoons with poodles, and photos of poodles and poodle collectibles. The photos shown on the back cover are in the book as well.
Artist and book illustrator, Flavia Gag (1907-1978) was the younger sister of artist Wanda Gag.
CONDITION: Very good - Dust jacket has light wear, minor scuffing/chips at the edges. Black cloth cover with pink poodle embossed is clean, minor scuffing at edges. Pages are pristine! The dust jacket is in a plastic protector (made from a magazine sleeve). The last photo in the array was taken with the protector on the dust jacket.Non-smoking home.
