Offered for sale in this listing is a vintage book Daddy-Long-Legs by Jean Webster published in 1912.  In 1919 it became a silent film starring Mary Pickford. This book has a letter handwritten, signed and dated (1921) by Mary Pickford on the  second front blank flyleaf.   The book was either mailed to her or brought to her to sign for a fan and she decided to additionally write the letter.  The book is in very good condition considering it is over 100 years old.  Listing photos show condition of book. There is the beginnings of a slight separation of the front hardcover as well back hardcover but binding is still fairly tight.  The dark staining of the front blank page and back blank page is from the lining of the inside front and back hardcovers due to aging. The book has a couple B&W photos from the film.  Great association piece.  The handwritten letter reads as follows:

              "Dear Mrs. Eckles-

                          I loved doing Judy- 

               "Daddy-Long-Legs"  was my 

                first independent pro-

                duction.  Fortunately for

                me, it turned out well-
