Supermarine Spitfire – WW2 Aluminium Trench Art model

A cast period aluminium model of the Spitfire, complete with original heavy weighted stand, attached by means of a threaded rod..Not sure what the stand is, but it looks and feels like an old bit of engineering of some sort !

A substantial and quite heavy piece, weighing 245 gms. and having a wingspan of around 5.5 inches (14cms)
original patina, the model has not been cleaned or polished.
