Vintage Notre Dame de Lourdes Virgin Mary Madonna Plaster Bust Glass Eyes Rare
From France, this stunning plaster bust has very blue, very attractive glass eyes. I see many religious busts and statuettes but have not seen one as attractively made as this. Her gaze, so serene, imparts tranquillity and a sense of peace. This statuette is in very good vintage condition, just slight rubbing on the top lip and nose, which is usual with these French plaster figures, and some rubbing on the top of her head (see last picture).
The beautiful cream and gold colouring is highlighted with blue. The base bears the inscription Notre Dame de Lourdes at the front, and Deposé E.Lapeyre on the back.
