A gorgeous set of antique Aesthetic Movement transferware from Wallis Gimson & Co, c. 1885. The color is an unusual dark teal blue, the tureen and platters marked with the registration number RN 39268 and the pattern name "Alexandria". The design includes an abundance of wonderful botanical and bird figures as well as shapes and motifs typical of the Aesthetic movement. What distinguishes this set from other examples I've seen is the gilt edging and detailing on all of the pieces which is still nicely intact. The set is comprised of:

A soup tureen and lid: 6"W x 4.25" D x 4.5" H/ 15.2 W x 11 D x 11.5H cms
Ladle: 6.25" long / 16 cms long
Tureen stand: 7.5" x 6.25" / 19 x 16 cms
Platter: 10.5" x 8" / 27 x 20.5 cms

Condition is almost perfect - there is one tiny chip on a corner - see pic 5 - but no cracks, hairline or otherwise that I've found. This will be shipped super carefully, boxed with gobs of bubble wrap.
