CONDITION: Near fine.
Hardcover bound in mustard yellow cloth covered boards, red stamped titles to cover and spine. Housed in a pictorial dust jacket. All four dust jacket corners at the interior panels have been neatly trimmed. Dust jacket shows rubbing to edges, small losses and chips at corners, two small tears from edges, no soiling or sun toning noted. Dust jacket is housed in a mylar protective sleeve and presents beautifully. Binding is firmly intact with no splits, feels sound and unshaken. Covers are clean and square, with only a tiny spot of soil to rear cover and another spot noted to lower edge of rear cover. No bowing although it looks like there is a very slight lean to the boards, see the final photograph. Edges are crisp with minimal rubbing, corners are nice and square, not bumped. Orange and white illustrated endpapers. Small vintage sticker for Capwell's bookstore in Oakland affixed to rear pastedown endpaper. Interior contents are otherwise pristine and completely free of defects. No bookplate or owner's signature, no writing or underlining, no creases or tears. The illustrations are remarkably detailed, really an altogether splendid book. Clean and bright throughout.
