An excellent war film starring Howard Keel as a gruff Colonel who believes a large contingency of the German army is in the vicinity, and refuses to let up on his men who are ordered to locate them - on night patrols and day patrols. Beautiful Tina Louise, posing as a wounded American woman (actually spying for the Germans) draws tenderness from Earl Holliman, who believes her, treats her tenderly as the wounded woman she appears to be. She also draws abuse from bad boy swaggering Burt Reynolds in one of his earliest roles. All of them do a good job of acting, creating a tension-filled story line that climaxes when the Germans attack, the Allied Commanding Officer wakes up to the truth that a huge armored division of the German army is, indeed, in the area and advancing toward his outnumbered men and finds an Allied tank division to stop them. Men die as the tanks and machine guns blow up the area on their advance. Tina Louise takes the opportunity to kill Burt Reynolds and Earl Holliman kills Tina Louise just before he is blown up. Death is all around as Howard Keel, who believed no man was indispensable is seen wiping a tear as he hears a report of who didn't make it. It's a good movie, a credit to every actor involved.

This auction is for a vintage 16mm movie, in B&W and sound, about a small army unit defending a town against a larger German force with a spy among them. The film is about  1,200 ft. long on a 12.25" plastic reel. According to the note on the leader, this is reel 1 of a set of 3 reels. Color is as pictured. (See Pics)

It was part of an inventory removed from a home of a CAMERA COLLECTOR after he died and the the owners sold the home. These cameras were among a number of CAMERAS AND PHOTOGRAPHIC SUPPLIES. They all looked like in decent shape. So, I am selling it "AS IS" NO RETURNS NO REFUNDS, and pricing it accordingly.

So far, I have sold quite a bit of items from that lot and have had no complaints yet!!

Note: In order to view this movie I borrowed an old 16mm projector. The owner warned me not to waste the bulb. Another thing, it did not have a speaker. I had to figure what was going on by watching the movie. If the pictures I took look blurry, I was trying to watch the film running through the projector and take pictures at the same time.

Condition: This film is about 60 years old. It does have a sound track but the only projector I could borrow did not have a speaker. Color is what you see in the pics. Blotches in the picture are from the old table cloth I had to use as a screen. Otherwise, the film is fairly clear, no problems running it. Because of its age, I am selling this item "AS IS, NO REFUNDS OR RETURNS"
