Andean Ocarina Finger Flute Necklace From Peru

The most famous of all Andean instruments!  The ocarina is an ancient musical instrument first appearing 12000 years ago in South and Central America. The Mayan, Aztec and Incas all created and played their version of Ocarinas from clay.

They were used in pre-Columbian times as both as a form of communication while herding llamas in the mountain valleys and as traditional music.  All are ocarinas are molded from clay and hand painted by Peruvian artist in traditional Pisac designs.
