Phra Somdej Wat Rakang were created by Somdej Phra Buddhachan Toh Phromrangsi (Somdej Toh)
Phra Somdej Wat Rakang has been made continuously from BE. 2352 to BE. 2415./AD.1809 - AD.1872
In
the first era of Phra Somdej amulets during the period of King Rama II
and Rama III, Somdej Toh created his own mold called Pim Auckruit,
were
made by his cousin "Teath" and using the skill of Village craftsman
(Baan Changlor). That time molds to press the amulets are not beautiful
and
most amulets are broken or surface skin shatter, also very rare in
present. During the period of King Rama IV was the middle era of Phra
Somdej amulets
were made by using the skill of Sib Moo craftsman.
The last era of Phra Somdej amulets were made by using the skill of
Royal craftsman during
the period of King Rama IV and early of King RamaV (B.E. 2407 to B.E. 2415).
Somdej Toh had been studied from many great guru monks in the past. He had learned many things and one of them is how to create
"Itti Vattu" (Powerful bless/chant things) are the amulets. By chanting Buddha Katha Mantra, Spells,
Write
on with Number of Yans include the power of meditate. The right way of
consecrate which made the amulets have power of protection against
evils/darkness or negative energy.
Somdej Toh made these amulets is to explain the Dharma of Buddha and also to bless every live in the world for good karma.
He
blessed alone by himself with ChinnaBanchorn Katha to sacred as much as
possible. Then they were given to person who believed and respected on
Phra Somdej amulet.

Materials
for making Phra Somdej comprise : shell lime, Phong Vises (holy powder,
ittijae, tri-ni-singhae etc.), assorted flower from shine, rice remains
after his consumption, lotus,
ashes from incense urns, honey, tung oil, etc.
