1960 Jensen 541R - Rare and very
Collectible
You are
looking at one of the rarest of already a rare breed of cars, a 1960 Jensen
541R, this is a one of a kind!
Jensen 541R’s
were produced from 1957 to 1960 and this was one of the last cars produced and left the factory
invoiced on 26 April 1960.
There were
only 20-25, 541R’s built with the
high performance triple Carburetors, 4.0 Liter Austin Motors engine with rack
& pinion steering, large disc brakes all around and the light weight
Fiberglass body. In 1960 this classic
automobile was the fastest 4-seater sports car made, with a top speed of over 125mph.
We purchased
this car off of the owner in Arizona and the car has its full
history/documentation from Day one. She was shipped out to the USA from the UK
in the early 60s and registered in San Francisco in 1965. It was then shipped
back to the Jensen Factory, West Bromwich in the early 70s for upgrades which amongst a few of the items
included an engine replacement, electrical and an upgraded front factory grill.
When we
found the car she was like a time shell with all her items in place and covered
inside a dry garage. All that was needed was some loving and attention to detail.
We have
given this Milano Red, Jensen 541R an extensive ground up restoration which is
well into six figures, including “Deltron” two stage paint , stunning Italian
leather interiors, wool carpets, complete re-chrome throughout, new chrome 72
spoke wire wheels, new exhaust system, with an original new Jensen Factory installed motor that has less than 900 miles, original factory overdrive, upgraded wiring
and much more down to the very fine details.
Our Jensen
541R also has the original “King Dick” Tool Set and Bag, which is complete and
the original spare and jack. This is the only 541R that has a factory installed
slotted grille, with all documentation from Jensen Motors, truly “One of a Kind”.
This is absolutely
the finest and rarest complete Jensen 541R in existence!
