This is a beautiful Victorian watch fob and pendant necklace.
It is formed from an engraved, gold filled shield-shaped pendant with ornate geometric and scrolled engraving, black t’aille d’epigne enameling and a center seed pearl measuring 2 mm. It has a hinged keepsake compartment at back. The pendant measures 2 inches in length including its tulip-shaped bale by 1 inch wide at its widest point.
It is suspended on a fancy, double, intersecting U-shaped gold filled chain, 6 mm wide at its widest point and 19 ¼ inches in length. It has a spring clasp at one end and a lever clasp at the other end, and weighs 17.2 dwt (26.66g). There are several small chips to the black enamel and it is otherwise in very good condition for a piece of this age.
This piece has been measured and graded according to Gemological Institute of America grading standards by a graduate gemologist.
