Here we start with a vintage & extremely nice & cool looking Olympic slant dial tube bakelite AM radio in fantastic working condition. The model number on this stunning looking radio is 6A-501 & it was produced in the 1946 era. This Olympic was popular when in came out in the late 1940's & still is a sought after radio in todays market. This is not a rare radio however because the color is "ebony" black it is not a very common radio to find as most of these radios where a dark chocolate brown in color. As I state the color is black & this is how it came from the factory & not a repainted cabinet. The cabinet is made of bakelite or thick plastic which has no crack or chips but there are a couple of very small scratches that are not noteworthy of talking about nor do they show in any pictures  or detract from the beauty of this radio in any way shape or form. I have taken many pictures of this radio so you may get a good view at this amazing & very cool looking & working radio.

This radio is very unique looking with it's inset round AM slant dial scale that sets it apart from all other radios. The plastic dial scale lens cover is clean & clear with no cracks. The AM dial scale itself looks fantastic with no ware & great numbers & a nice big bold working ivory dial scale pointer & a nice working dial light. The bakelite louvered front that has inset lines extending around on both side adds a very nice touch to the style of the cabinet. The ivory colored control knobs are original & in excellent looking & working condition. The original back panel is present & in fantastic condition that holds on tight & secure. The internal loop antenna system is in great working condition which need no additional antenna wire to receive great AM reception.

The chassis is in good condition & it is a 5 tube unit with 2 controls which are from left to right #1-ON/OFF/VOLUME #2-TUNING & both controls have been lubricated & are in great working condition. The chassis has had new electrolytic capacitor/filters installed & all wax/paper capacitors were replaced & a new electric cord has been installed. This radio has been restored to great working condition.

When this beautiful & stunning looking Olympic is powered up, it pulls in AM stations all around that beautiful dial scale & plays them clean & clear with plenty of volume & good tone quality.

This Olympic radio would make an excellent addition to your radio collection or as a stand alone radio as it's power & beauty will surely be the talk of the room by all whom enter.

I have a few antique vintage tube radios & items listed on eBay at different times, so you may want to take a peek now or in the future to see if there isn't anything else that you just can't live with or without:-) To view other items click here>>>See other items

This is a vintage radio & must be handled & cared for & treated in this manor & not like a modern day boombox. Tube radio technology "unlike modern day solid state radios" can have interference/noise in the sound quality, caused by kitchen appliances, computer monitors, flat screen TV'S, florescent lights, washing machines, high power wires/lines above your home, etc... So where you position/place this radio in your home can make a huge difference & the direction/position it is set in. A lot of tube radios are directional meaning you "may" have to turn the radio one way or the other to receive the best reception.

The size of this beautiful gem is 12" long 5-1/4" wide 6-1/2" high. I would estimate the shipping cost to be around $20.00 plus or minus a couple dollars (depending on your location) INSURED & mailed in the USA. I only charge for shipping, what it cost me to ship it to you & NO EXTRAS, this also applies to International shipping costs, but this DOES NOT include CUSTOMS FEES or TAXES or DUTIES that MAY apply to International buyers. International buyers are RESPONSIBLE for these fees/costs & must check with your local CUSTOMS or POST OFFICE to see if these charges may apply to you. International bidders/buyers please do not email me during or after the sale asking me if I will ALTER the customs form, US regulations prohibit the practice of declaring purchased items as a GIFT or UNDERSTATING the purchase price. I package very well for a safe arrival. Pickup is always welcome.

If you have any questions, please ask & I will promptly answer & as best as I can. Please ask questions before the end of the sale & not after. Thanks for looking I greatly appreciate it.
