The Oxford Vitality Multivitamin contains the following: Vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, C, E, K2, D-Biotin and Folic Acid.
Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin that is the generic term for both Carotenoids and Retinol. Vitamin A Retinol is found in animals and products such as butter, whole milk and oily fish. Carotenoids, on the other hand, are sourced only from non-animal food sources such as broccoli, sweet potato and carrots. Carotenoids serve as a precursor to Retinol Vitamin A. Examples of Carotenoids include Beta-carotene, Lycopene and Lutein. Vitamin A serves to help promote normal metabolism of Iron and maintenance of the normal mucous membranes. It also strengthens and protects the immune system. Althougth, its primary role is to promote eye health and normal vision.
The B Vitamins are water-soluble vitamin. Vitamin B1 (Thiamin) is responsible for preventing its deficiency state called BeriBeri disease. Foods rich in B1 include brown rice, yeast, pork and Brazil nuts. Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) is responsible for optimizing health of the skin health, eyes, mucous membrane and for iron metabolism.
