RARE ANTIQUE .925 Sterling Silver Vermeil
& Cloisonne - Chinese Foo Dog Brooch

This is a Rare, Unusual and Very Well Made Antique
Chinese Foo Dog (Guardian Lion) Brooch dating from
the first half of the 20th century. The style of the
Brooch catch dates to the 1920s-1930s. Hallmarked
S925. (Sterling silver). This Beautiful Cloisonné figure
is made with delicate Silver wire in tight loops (Cloisons).
The transparent enamel allows the loops of Silver wire
to be visible giving the appearance of scales. The tail,
the decorative cheeks of the face and the frame of the
figure are also covered with transparent enamel in the
same shades of blue as the main body along with some
darker blue, white, dark red and eggplant colored enamel
accents. The feet and facial features are covered with
vermeil. The main body and top of the head have bezel-set
coral with a few very small accents of pale green enamel
intermixed among the coral on the body. It weighs 19.4
grams and is about 2 ½ inches wide, 1 7/8 inches tall and
¾ inch thick at its widest. Please look at all the photos
