1967 Jaguar E-Type FHC coupe
4.2 liter inline straight six 4-speed manual transmission
The rise in value of
the Jaguar XKE’s in the collector car market is very well known and is evident
the way these cars are being snapped up quickly. Since the beginning when Enzo Ferrari stated that the Jaguar XKE
was the most beautiful car ever, the Jaguar XKEs continue to be a favorite
among collectors.
The 1967 Jaguar E-Type FHC Coupe, (YES! The highly desirable Series I) in this ad is an excellent opportunity for somebody who is new to collecting cars or already has established a collection. The private seller has owned this car since 1978 and says he has loved every minute!
The E-type was presented as a rear-wheel drive, performance and luxury automobile capable of high speed and spirited long-distance driving. The car in this auction is a FHC that was a most popular two-door coupe format.
The Series 1 cars are by far the most valuable, essentially fall into two categories: The Series I between 1965-1967, increased engine size and torque by around 10%, added a fully synchronized transmission, and also provided new reclining seats, an alternator in place of the prior generator, an electrical system switched to negative earth, and other modern amenities, all while keeping the same classic Series 1 styling. The 4.2 litre Series 1 E-Types also replaced the brake servo of the 3.8 litre with a more reliable unit. "The 4.2 became the most desirable version of the famous E-Type due to their increased power and usability while retaining the same outward appearance as the earlier cars."
5,830 FHC S1 4.2 were produced.
The private seller has told MissChiTown the following:

The private seller purchased this car in 1978 when it had 40,000 miles on it. The seller has not put many additional miles on the car during his ownership
The car was repainted about 30 years ago in the original color.
The Dark
Blue Leather interior is original and the seller tells us it is very nice but a
little faded. The owner does mention
that the interior needs to some attention to detail.
The seller tells us that it is a no hit car.
It does have the original wire spoke wheels and the four wheels on the car look good (the spare wheel is looking a little rough).
The original inline straight six was rebuilt some time ago. And the wiring harness was also done at that done. 4-speed manual transmission. 4 wheel disk brakes.
Again the private seller tells us that it is a matching numbers, Jaguar Certificate, repainted in original dark blue, original dark blue leather interior and even includes the original tool kit and the operating, maintenance and service handbook.
The private seller tells us that he has always kept the car very well maintained and it is a lovely driver and not a trailer queen. The car is in very good running condition.
Here at MissChiTown we are the marketing agent to assist car collectors with a wonderful presentation on eBay. We get to see the big picture and can tell you the XKE coupes have been rising faster in value then even the XKE roadsters. We all know that the XKE roadsters have been shooting stars in terms of value. We can only recommend to other collectors that if you want to get in on something close to the ground floor, as these XKE’s continue to skyrocket in increased value, now would be the time to make your move. We think that the XKE coupe looks fabulous in this dark blue color combination and would look even better with you driving it down the road!
